Reviews for 2012 Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon

Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

LA6912 PV Pinot Gris 09 Dom

90 Points Wine Spectator

“Ripe and expressive, this firm red has depth, showing black currant, black cherry and sage flavors that persist as the finish lingers.”

90 points“Named after a late-1800s shipwreck that also gave its name to Ringbolt Bay, the brand is crafted in remote southwest Australia. How they get it here at this price is a marvel of modern transportation economics. The 2012 vintage of this consistently good red is full-bodied, smooth and succulent, with prominent flavours of black currant and cherry. The telltale hint of mint, classic to Australia’s relatively cool western Margaret River region, is here, too, as is an intriguing whisper of mossy earth. Medium-rare steak would be perfect.”

Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail (Canada), 27 May 2014

89 points – “Opaque ruby. Aromas of dark berries, cherry skin and licorice, with a subtle tobacco nuance emerging with air. In the mouth, juicy blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors are sharpened by tangy acidity and a touch of cracked pepper. Finishes spicy and tight, with slow-building tannins and lingering smokiness.”
