The Wonderful World of Malbec

For years Argentina lived in the shadow of Chile, now Argentina has emerged  to produce a wide range of wines with a focus on an obscure grape known as Malbec.  This grape originates from the Bordeaux region of France where it is known to add body and color to one of the World premier wine growing regions.

Malbec is the number one red variety grown in Argentina and and is highly prized in Mendoza, the heart of the Argentine wine growing regions. What I have always enjoyed about this grape was it diversity of styles and when blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot it overs a tremendous value compared to those World Famous Bordeaux’s and there california Cousins Meritage.

A new favorite of mine and I hope soon will be yours is the Domaine Jean Bousquet Malbec and at $13.99 is one to enjoy with Grilled Steak with Churi sauce. Enjoy
